How we work
Primary sources first. When we describe a rule, we work from the Federal Register entry, the FCC public notice, the docket or the agency fact sheet, and we cite it so you can check us. Where we rely on someone else's reporting or legal analysis, we say whose.
Dates on everything. Regulatory coverage rots. Every article carries the date its claims were current, and pages we maintain continuously carry a last-updated date that we actually move.
We say when we do not know. A rule sitting at OIRA has an uncertain publication date, and pretending otherwise would be more comfortable and less useful. We would rather give you a range and the reasoning than a confident number that turns out to be wrong.
Corrections in public. Errors get fixed on the page with a note saying what changed. Report one to corrections@skydronenews.com.
Where we draw lines
We do not publish instructions for jamming, spoofing or otherwise interfering with aircraft, and we do not link to that equipment. This is not squeamishness — marketing those devices is prohibited under the Communications Act, and the people who most want that content are rarely the ones with a legitimate problem. We cover the law thoroughly and the lawful options thoroughly instead.
